Luis Bustamante

Criminal Attorney

Luis Bustamante is a Mexican immigrant who immigrated to the United States when he was six years old. Growing up he witnessed firsthand the abuse and discrimination his parents had to endure because of their unlawful status. Seeing the lack of representation in his community inspired Luis to pursue a career in Law and become a voice of change.

He graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Business, emphasis Finance in May of 2016. He attended Western State College of Law where he graduated Cum Laude in May of 2019. He was a dean’s fellow from 2017-2019, Managing Editor of Western’s Law Review and a member of Western’s Honor Moot Court and Mock Trial Teams.

He successfully led a Mock Trial Team to the final round of the regional Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) National Trial Court Competition for the first time in his school’s history. He was also the treasurer of Western’s Student Bar Association.

During his time at Western he was part of the school’s Immigration clinic. Under the supervision of my managing attorney he successfully represented low-income clients in their bond, master, and merits hearings and interned at the District Attorney’s office (Insurance Fraud Unit). He has experience working in criminal defense, immigration, family, and personal injury law offices.
