Daniel Mark Elliston

D. Mark Elliston is an attorney in Dallas and has substantial criminal law experience in both state and federal courts. Mr. Elliston previously was an Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas where he prosecuted the Texas Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Nan, Jordanian terrorists, and at the time the largest clandestine drug lab in the history of the United States.

Mr. Elliston is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has an AV Preeminent rating, which he has held for over 35 years. For 18 years, he has been a speaker and faculty member of the State Bar of Texas Annual Advanced Criminal Law Course. He is a fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas. He was listed for a number of years in a row by Texas Monthly Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” based upon a poll of 65,000 Texas lawyers, and has been listed as one of Texas’ top lawyers in a number of other publications.

Mr. Elliston is a 1974 graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law. While there, he was Chief Counsel of the Moot Court Board, Deputy Chief Counsel of the legal clinic, and recipient of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
