Jacob Bartel

Originally from the Chicagoland area, Jacob Bartel graduated cum laude with honors from Texas Christian University, where he studied political science and economics. He attended DePaul College of Law in Chicago for his Juris Doctor. Jacob is passionate about international and immigration law. During his time at DePaul, Jacob was a member of the Immigration Clinic, working to help people with USCIS and VAWA cases, as well as an intern for the Department of Homeland Security. He received an International Law Certificate at graduation. Following graduation, he became a bar-licensed attorney in Illinois and Washington, D.C., working for the City of Chicago and the Cook County Public Guardians Office. Jacob’s career has been rooted in service to others. He moved from the courtroom to the classroom, receiving a Master’s of Education from Arizona State University while working as a teacher for the area’s low-income charter and public schools. He is excited to return to the legal field and continue pursuing his passion for immigration law. Jacob has experience in several areas of immigration law, including Asylum, USCIS, VAWA, Cancellation of Removal, Motions to Reopen, and Appeals. He also has experience working with cases involving victims of abuse and neglect.
